The Black Voices Series believes that to fight cultural silencing and erasure, there needs to be more spaces that provide visibility for black-authored work. We want your poems, your essays, your fiction, and your multi-modal work. We thank you for trusting us with your voices.

Submissions are always open!

POETRY SUBMISSIONS are limited to five (5) poems. Please include all poems in one document (.docx and .doc are preferred). Please list the titles of your poems in the "Title" box of our submission form.

PROSE SUBMISSIONS are limited to one (1) self-contained work (no excerpts), including flash prose. Please limit your work to less than 10,000 words.

Please wait for our response before submitting again. While we do accept simultaneous submissions, please notify us promptly should your work be accepted elsewhere. We do not consider previously published work. We recommend purchasing our current issue or exploring our online content to get a better idea of the kinds of work we publish.

Please note that we no longer accept hardcopy submissions. Any and all hardcopy submissions will be recycled without being opened. We accept work exclusively through our Submittable submission manager.
